Some features of homes in Hidden Cove include vaulted ceilings, ample storage space, and spa-style baths. Homes in this community are perfect for families, people with home offices or anyone who enjoys entertaining. South Port and outlining communities are ideal places to live as they are all centrally located in the southwest section of town, just a few minutes from major shopping or access to the highway for a quick trip into Anchorage.
Lakeridge is a community in the southwest section of Anchorage, consisting mostly of detached, single-family homes. There are some condo/townhome/row home options located on its outer edge close to Jewel Lake Road. Most of these homes were built in the early 1980s and 1990s. This area is affectionately referred to as Jewel Lake. You will find a unique brand of shopping and dining choices. The area used to be a quiet and removed part of town. I understand the crime rate has gone up since a subsidized housing complex went in on Blackberry and 88th. I lived off of Blackberry as a single young lady in my first condo back in the mid 2000s. I felt safe and enjoyed walking to the store, the gym and to the parks on a regular basis. I would move back to that side of town if the offer presented itself. With good schools, life amenities and numerous public services options, Lakeridge homes reflect a unique flair for first-time homebuyers.
Oceanview is a charming, sought-after neighborhood in Anchorage. Residents enjoy the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and quiet streets of this picturesque community. If it were a bar, you would call it “Cheers!” – where everybody knows your name. Future residents will be surprised by how many housing options are available. Some features of Oceanview homes include updated kitchens, generous storage space, and ample landscaping opportunities. Several Oceanview homes are occupied by the original owners and/or have been retained as rentals. This neighborhood host multi-generational populations, meaning that the people who grew up here have moved back as adults to raise their children here. New resident Brittney Martinez has this to say, “I love living in Oceanview because it's a beautiful neighborhood, with great views and the most friendly neighbors I've ever known! It's very family friendly, very safe and has a good reputation for being one of Anchorage’s best neighborhoods.”
